Officially getting Blue Knight up and running and excited and nervous about the future. The most important part of this entire process is that everything we embark on ends up being helpful to those who need it. So it is important to explain the concept and the meaning of Blue Knight and why the name is so important to me. It's been months since my first post. Yet again my project has evolved and transformed. It's become evident that there is a lack of understanding and support not just in Cape Town, where we live, but in my country. South Africa is one of the most diverse countries in the world but still lacking in structure. The lack of support and understanding in South Aftica of Autism has challenged me. I want to find parents of ASD children and find out how they do it. I find the we, as the parents, of these children are the Knights in their lives and fittingly the colour of #autism awareness is blue. It seems fitting the this concept that developed over years of dreaming and thinking should come to this amalgamation of idea. It has become abundantly clear to me that i am surely not the only person that would require the need for talking, brainstorming and sometime venting. Funds for support are never there.
